https://youtube/watch?v=oThh3_Srxtc Despite that this is not entirely related, I would like to point out that the idea of fairness in war is somewhat of a very recent concept. The idea of giving people a second chance for survival as they were doing their duty. I mostly point this out, to also add not to the Samurai community when it comes to context of war. In Sengoku it is unlikely that this fair-play existed much, with a few exceptions. Such exception was Between Daimyos Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin. They were rivals of eachother, but when Takeda had issues with rice supplies because of the Hojo clan, Uesugi sent a shipment of salt (A valuable commodity is fridge-less days), stating: Wars are to be won with swords and spears, not with rice and salt.
