https://youtube/watch?v=v_rHIlqqSFE Ive been thinking a lot about how skewed the concept of being a Christian is...people get all scared and say Oh, youre one of those religious types, or they get upset and offended because our views differ so they say oh, you just hate insert whatever habit/lifestyle here), or the one I really dislike: Youre such a great person(which if you really knew me through the years you could know for sure thats not the case). Were people. Flesh, blood, and mistakes. Dreams, desires, and failures. The only difference is that I, and any other real believer, has a hope that does not fail. Weve been promised something real. Something that doesnt change. Something that isnt contingent upon how good we did or how poorly. Were loved more than we could ever need(often more than we even realize) by our God. Jesus Christ loves us just because He chooses to love us...theres no mathematical equation(except perhaps the fact that He substituted His life for ours on the cross and took the punishment we should get). No smoke and mirrors. No gold sticker or red pen F. Just love, like a Father would have for His child(a correct model of a dad which can be hard to see or understand in our twisted world). We just want to share what weve been given. Theres nothing special about us or better except that we said okay, I want that. It may mean giving up what you think you know, it may mean sacrifice, it may completely undo all of the work, blood, sweat, and tears youve poured into whatever it is youve tried to make yourself...but would God do or ask that if He didnt see us as something better? He sees us as enjoyable, lovable, and eternal creations that shouldnt be content with the temporal waste of a ruined world. So heres a rockstar with a nose piercing and long hair saying some similar and simple ideas along those lines.
