Yet the rejoicing is never indecent or out of order. You can expect to see raised hands during the singing, signifying agreement to the message in song. Their faces also reflect they have the experience they are singing about. You can expect to hear spontaneous testimonies in between the songs of how God answered prayer. The saints have liberty at the church of God. You can expect to see a difference between these people and the people of the world, and even most people in the religious world. These folks will be modestly dressed. The Sisters look like Sisters and the Brothers look like Brothers. You can expect the preaching to be anointed by the Spirit of God and backed up by the Word of God. The preaching is the main attraction at the church of God. The truth being preached here is what keeps us here. We come from a variety of religious backgrounds. Some of us were starving out in denominational land. Some of us found out we were being deceived. Some of us heard things here we had never heard before, yet God had a way of witnessing to our hearts that this message is right. We believe it will be that way for other honest hearts too. HIGHLIGHTS AND COMMENTS ON WHAT THE CHURCH OF GOD TEACHES, BELIEVES AND PRACTICES YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN (John 3:3) The born again experience is not just a hold up your hand and accept Jesus type of thing. This life changing experience only happens when a sinner genuinely repents and forsakes the world and the old life of sin and believes in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. SANCTIFICATION OR THE BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY GHOST (I Thessolonians 4:3, John 17:15-17, Romans 15:16) This miraculous nature changing experience is a second work of divine grace. It is a cleansing of the inherited carnal nature for believers and a infilling of the Holy Ghost. Through an act of obedience and faith a believer consecrates his life to God and is cleansed and filled with the Spirit of God. This experience supplies additional power to live holy consistently. Speaking in unknown tongues is not the evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost. Tongues in the Bible mean intelligent languages. The gift of tongues enables one to speak an intelligent language previously unlearned. (Acts 2: 4-8) Unknown tongues, recorded in I Corinthians 14, simply means foreign languages, unknown or foreign to the hearers. HOLY LIVING (Luke 1:73-75, I Peter 1:15-16, 2:22, Titus 2:11-12, Hebrews 12:14) Jesus came to save from sin. (Matt. 1:21) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin, (I John 1:9). This is not nightly confession. UNITY OF ALL GOD’S PEOPLE (John 17:20-21, Psalms 133:1, Eph. 4:3-6) The Bible calls Christians to the one fold or church. (John 10:16) Division among Christians is condemned. (I. Cor. l: 10) DIVINE HEALING (Psalms 103:3, Isaiah 53:5, Mark 16:1, James 5:13-15) Taught as a Bible doctrine, yet not made a test of fellowship. WATER BAPTISM (Matt. 3:16-17, 28:19-20, Romans 6:3-4, Luke 3:7-18) By immersion only, and for believers only. This ordinance symbolically represents one is dead to sin and pledges to walk in newness of life. It is an outward sign of an inward work that bas already taken place. FEET WASHING (John 13:3-15) This is done decently. Brothers wash brothers feet and sisters wash sisters feet in separate areas. This act of humility does not make one humble but the humble are happy to do it as the Lord commanded LORD’S SUPPER OR COMMUNION.
