i refuse to remove what some people call weeds from my garden. reason being, they are part of my garden. think about it., weeds improve your soil, they also shade the soil reducing the evaporation rate, alot of them are edible and more nutritious than your typical salad green ie, dandelions, shamrock and lambs quarter. the roots help hold the soil together preventing erosion, and housing beneficial microbes, fungi, and bacteria, which connect all plants together for nutrient sharing, weeds naturally grow in soil that lacks certain nutrients, often because the weed itself has the ability to put that nutrient back into the soil, especially if you do not pull it out. the only place to draw the line here, is new seedlings competing for light, and invasive vines (false virginia creeper) these things can kill the plants and I simply do not allow that to happen. take it from me, weeds are your friends, are delicious, and incredibly easy to grow. I actually replant some of them in their own pots and encourage them to go to seed . Happy Planting my friends :D
