( i saw this on my new feeds. I had to share it.) “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free!! So why is this any different at our Southern borders? Throughout American history we have opened our gates to ANYONE seeking a better life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, free of war, tyranny, oppression!! I believe we ALL need to remember what we Americans have fought and died for! Have we ALL lost the compassion to save the innocent? The weak? The helpless!!! I honestly believe that ones that are up in arms over the influx of immigrants from the South need to take a good hard look at their own family heritage! I feel you all have turned your backs on our very own Constitution, our PROMISE to the world and our American way of life that has built this great country of ours off the backs of EVERY AMERICAN that has fought and died for that very belief!! It shames and disappoint me that we live in a time of hypocrisy, racism, greedy, power hungry self righteous radicals that preach the Constitution at their OWN leisure when it suits THEIR needs!!! No matter what you label this issue, it is RACISM at its purest form!! I dont see protesters at our Northern border turning away Canadians from driving into our country!!! These are small HISPANIC children, most under the age of 13 and we are treating them like we are being invade by the Nazis!!! Im ashamed of my fellow Americans that are willing to send thousands of young children to their deaths! This is definitely our darkest hour!! The idea of the liberty of this country enlightening the world as a symbol of liberty, peace, human rights, abolition of slavery, democracy and opportunity. The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World; French: La Liberté éclairant le monde) is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in the middle of New York Harbor, in Manhattan, New York City. The statue, designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886, was a gift to the United States from the people of France. The statue is of a robed female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom, who bears a torch and a tabula ansata (a tablet evoking the law) upon which is inscribed the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. A broken chain lies at her feet. The statue is an icon of freedom and of the United States: a welcoming signal to immigrants arriving from abroad. Libertys image is one of strength, majesty, and hope, visible in her eternally raised right arm which carries the torch of freedom. Holding aloft a light that never fails, she represents hope to the hopeless, welcome to the poor, courage to the meek. Facing outward toward the ocean, her lamp is a beacon on stormy seas, drawing to her shores, those from afar who seek a better life. For these, and for countless others who embrace her message, the Statue of Liberty represents the Golden Door. Maybe we should have erected her twin sister at our Southern border!!! Or just told France thanks, but NO thanks!!
