i think she is a true artist.. David Bowie was once thought of as a fake - an actor, which he always said he was. and now i would go so far to say the most important man/ artist in rock. as well as the rock establishment who was partially ridiculing him now - hindsight is so 20/20. sometimes the artistic path less traveled is sometimes mocked. but she will have the last laugh. and a number one second album isnt too shabby either. especially one kind of impenetrable at times, with its wall of sound and slightly Valium - laced, with a hint of bourbon (get a little bit a bourbon) to wash over us, but it is so damn hauntingly beautiful and the only album in years that i cannot stop listening to - Ultraviolence. i loved about 7 out of 12 on BTD, but it also haunted me. and was brought to my attention by someone who works in our shop. i am glad she threw off the hiphop trappings and baby-doll-squeak for a more Cocteau Twins elegance that is just gorgeous. she just works on so many levels for me. bravo!
