i was looking online for a meeting in Plano and there was a 2 pm one at a church except when I got there there was none that I could see. A church lady took me into her office where she explained to me the online info is wrong and there was none until Thursday night. She clicked away on the computer as I sat staring into a basket of Reeses peanut butter cups. She was determined to get me to another meeting. I wondered if she was going to offer me some candy. She pointed to a picture of a young girl and said her daughter is in recovery thats why shes always helping strays who come in looking for this non existent mtg no one updates the website on. She let me search and print 2 pages of meetings in the area and we talked for 20 minutes, as she told me about her daughter. She congratulated me on my sobriety and that I was seeking meetings in a different town to attend. As I was leaving, she asked me if I could come back and see her time to time since her daughter lives in Kerrville and does not like to visit Plano as it triggers her. I said I will be back for Christmas and yes I will be popping in to visit with her. I made a cool new friend today. And yes, she did offer me some candy.
