i went and read the info on the new obamacare stuff on the government website and did the calculator estimator deal and right now i am paying around $2000 a year for medical care, the calculator estimated i will be paying over $10000 a year. unless i qualify for medicaid in 2014 if i do idk how much i will hafta pay, maybe the same as now which is the $2000 i pay a year for chip medicaid for my kids (nathan makes too much $ i dont qualify for traditional medicaid for my kids only chip where i have a premium and $25&$10 copays for meds and clinic visits it caps out at about $2000 annually). unless i pay less under medicaid in 2014 this isnt going to help me. i thought this was suppost to help people like me :( and if you read carefully the subsidies that they say you can get goes to the insurance company (to lower premiums) not to you. ofcourse i wouldnt qualify for that anyway because i will hit my cap pay limit on out of pocket expenses every year because of all the care Zar requires. the average cost of care for cf can be from $6000(mild form) to $43000 (and i know its actually more than that). the new med kalydeco that we are hoping to be able to get soon costs $294,000.00 for a years supply. one med Zar is taking now is over $2,000.00 for a months supply. thats $22,000.00 just for one medication not including clinic visits,hospitalizations,lab&xray,medical equipment for home care and all the other meds. if it wasnt for Zar i would not have even applied for medicaid but nobody can afford that much for meds. she is currently on 12 meds daily sometimes as many as
