idea for a Jake/nog comic relief scene for a potential ds9 original novel I could write: Nog is going through shuttle craft flight training. Jake encourages Nog to complete it and looks on as Nog goes through the final practice runs before the eventual test Nog must pass. As Nog leaves the simulator the two friends meet up. Jake I did it!. Jake returns the big smile with one of his own and says see Nog? I told you!. Nog customarily laughs and says its like we used to say on fereginar. Ive got the need!... The need for - Jake cuts him off and says speed?. Nog shakes his head and says no, silly! Greed! Ive got the need. The need for greed! Jake unsure how to respond says wait.. Im pretty sure the word is speed. nog replies when have you ever seen a ferengi say that!. Jake smiles and says Nog, dont be ridiculous. That saying came from ancient earth cinema! Nogs smile suddenly vanishes and says well.. That sounds like a stupid movie to me! as he crosses his arms. A curt frown settles upon him. Nog continues I grew up saying that the original way. Speed never got you profit. Jake mumbles under his breath as he walks away need for greed? Ill never understand ferengi and shakes his head.
