in 1972 I moved to Ann Arbor to go to school. Discovered a lot of life changing things, many of which stayed with me for always, and many many centered around music... in 1973 the plot thickened... Pat Mullins turned me on to Eric Dolphy, I was given a pass the the Jazz and Blues Festival and saw Ornette Coleman and Sun Ra on the same evening (mind blowing) and that fall I also discovered Gato Barbieri and Pharoah Sanders. I will not post it because of the length and the intensity of the passionate frenzy of sound it builds to sandwiched between incredibly beautiful mantra like sounds washing over you as you listen, but look up Karma by Pharoah Sanders and listen to The Creator Has A Master Plan featuring Leon Thomas yodeling the vocals... peace and happiness to everyman... more than just a dream some of us had... I just listened to it, my eyes are unblushingly wet as my thoughts roam from A-Z... heck its Sunday, and this is My Church... love and peace happiness to you all...
