... in continuation to my yesterdays post about our faith in gods and goddesses, today I shall briefly write about Pujas. Why do Hindus do puja of God? For this first one needs to understand the meaning of puja. The word puja is derived from two words purnata(feeling of fulfillment) and janamta(to born). So puja means that which is born out of fulfillment. When one feels so full of gratitude then what one does is puja. In doing puja what we do... we offer flowers, fruits, water, we do arti. We are expressing gratitude towards the Creation by mimicking it. What does Creation do? Every day the sun does our arti. The nature provides us with fruits and flowers. Rains provide us with water. So in our little way thank God by mimicking all It has provided us, by doing puja. I tell you our culture is so rich, our ancient rishis and swamis were so so so advanced. All this vedic wisdom is not done just for the sake of it. There is a very superior-science behind all this. So beautiful na.
