in ultimate spider-man #1 , were introduced to alot of characters , the main highlight for me being peter and his family. despite reading amazing fantasy and a number of other amazing spider-man classic comic books over the course of me running this page , as well as prior to running this page , ive never really felt interested in peters family much , as in , i didnt much care for aunt may , and uncle ben was , well , unfortunately , murdered by that damn burglar. but in these comics i really liked reading the panels which showcased peters family discussions , such as this one , it was really humorous , and i enjoyed reading them. :P i think the modernized thing bendis was going for worked really REALLY well in these comics , and is the reason for their success. dont forget , they DID after all try to revamp spider-mans older adventures for the newer audience , but those attempts had failed , and got negative reaction , and i was thinking , maybe that had something to do with THIS , because they were MISSING the charisma and charm of bendis innovative writing , with the whole modernized thingy going on here , they failed. no one was interested, i guess. here , though ,bendis had plain fun with it , and made this re-telling of the story of spider-man much MUCH more interesting.
