information only for Auskick Graduates (Age 11 next year) The following is what was covered on Saturday around B Division Integration: As a general concept the Junior league wants to encourage all kids to keep playing footy and understands that some parents and players may have concerns about the intensity at the next level. We believe that at the next level a real team atmosphere develops, resulting in some real positive behaviour to others both on and off the field. We also believe that the integration gives players a head start on the next year as they have a good understanding of the competition and reduces the time it takes to get used to the game. Under 12s play very similar rules as senior Auskick: No kicking off the ground. No sling or dangerous tackling. One bounce only. All players get rotated so that all players get a go in every position on the ground. Bullying is discouraged. Equal Opportunity is encouraged. The growth in confidence of the special needs children in our teams is tremendous. We are also very lucky to have in our under 12s and under 14s a couple of girls playing. Coaches train all players to strengthen the skills they learn in Auskick i.e. kicking and handball with both hands. The kids are also taught about each position and how to play it effectively. Competitiveness does increase but winning and losing takes a back seat to kids getting a fair go. All senior Auskick players are now welcome to do one or all or the following for the remainder of the season: Participate in training which is held at the Benalla All Blacks ground every Wednesday (excluding this week) from 4.30 to 6.00pm. Play with one of the sides either for part or full games.Participate in Under 12s by just helping out with running water. Integration is an opportunity for players and parents and is strictly on a volunteer basis only. No one should feel pressured that they have to do this in order to play next year. Please let Mick Liddington know at Auskick if you want to take up this opportunity or see me at training or on Saturdays. Kind Regards, Glen Davis ph0438 057 645 B Division Coordinator B&DJFL
