interesting... its also kind of cool that you can trace corporate brand ownership without an app. Just reading the fine print and then doing a little more fine print reading on company websites will give a pretty clear picture of who owns whom, since all that info does have to be public. You can certainly draw a tree of ownership, but the forest wont have too many trunks because branches and roots feed to and fro to the same fistful of owners. Luckily, there are lots of people starting new indy brands all the time. I have faith that well keep making enough new stuff quickly enough to keep the brand forest truly diversified.
