it is becoming apparent that many of the advocates in the voter rights situation in Castle Rock are backing down quickly with the belief that their side may win the issue. Dont be mistaken, no win will be permitted in this situation. It doesnt matter which sides wins, Yes or No, whomever it may be, the opposition will throw the voting process down as their recourse on the results. The town will spend much more and we will still not have a result, if the process persists. We must end this entire situation now and save the Town from further embarrassment and cost. We can vote again with the November ballot, and have a clean election. I did get involved in this entire situation because I am a fierce advocate for 2nd Amendment freedoms, but I then learned of the egregious process in which Town handled ballots and the lack of attention to voter secrecy. I say now THIS is the NEW issue. We need to cut to the root of the vote tallying irregularities and reset based on the State Constitution. Voter privacy is a critical tenant of our governmental system, and must be held in the most sacred of expectations. The trend away from this topic by the Republicans and the avoidance altogether by the Democrats is exactly why we are losing faith in the main parties... They are for the best of the people, as long as it serves the goals of the party. This is why the smell of burning membership cards is getting so thick in the Colorado air. We (the people of Colorado) just cant take the fickle what do I get out of it mentality. The parties should be advocates for the voters, and stick with your voters till their rights are restored! Stand for SOMETHING real. Do something good, pure and true to our heritage. Thank God for those who went before us and established this incredible Nation that we are so quick to dismantle. The deals to take issues off of ballots for fracking and put them in the hands of committees is insane. Put the issues to the People... ALL issues, ones you are for and those you are against. It is for the people to choose the ones they support and the ones that will have to try again. We must all push to get our rights and our say back in our Government before it runs further aground. Reign in ANY situation where decisions are pulled from the people and put into the hands of a select group, and ALWAYS fight tenaciously and clearly for your rights as a voter and a participant in this system. The vote in Castle Rock had less to do with open carry and more to do with the decentralization of power from a town employee and back into the hands of the citizens. This is the same vein and thought as the found issue of voter privacy. We should be standing together on all sides and route this entire situation out. The roar of the silence is deafening.
