its really pretty simple. conservatives want to be able to portray Obama as uncooperative which has never been the truth. the truth was precisely what Mitch McConnell publicly said, back in 2008: my Job One is to make Barack Obama a one-term president and nothing at all about doing what I was elected to do so Mitch SHOULD have resigned when Obama was re-elected (by a fairly comfortable majority) over a republican rich robot of a guy, with all of the personal appeal of a paper doll. The conservatives want to blame Obama for everything they think is wrong with the country. Naturally I differ on what is wrong and even if agreed with SOME of their issues, most of them have existed since before Obama was born, so they are hardly created by him, nor will they be solved by one man. alone, and that is constantly the situation the GOP has tried to force him into. Now THEY have to lead. My prediction is a simple one: they lack the skills and character to do it. All they know how to do is harp on their issues to complain about and they have no idea of any workable solutions for them, even if some of the issues were realistic. So instead they resort to legislation about flag burning and trying to curtail the civil rights of women and gay couples.
