I was away from office and FB outreach, I came to know about some negative comments about my accepting membership of Provincial Advisory Board. Let me inform and clarify all friends that neither I have joined Govt of Sindh nor I am part of Govt in any way. I am an independent writer, visiting faculty and activist. Actually the Home department Govt of Sindh requested me to join Provincial Advisory Board in my personal capacity as a responsible member of society; I accepted it because its a VOLUNTEER position to give my inputs on provincial policies relating to home department. Recently we some friends i.e. Naseer Memon, Fazullual Qureshi, Zulfiqar Halepoto and others gave serious inputs to Dr Sikandar Mandhro and it was due to our technical inputs that some positive elements became part of Sindh Local Government Act. We shall always oppose wrong decisions of government, however, its also our responsibility to give substantial inputs/suggestions honestly and independently whenever Govt asks for some inputs on serious public matters. Prior to this I served as a member National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) from Sindh along with Ms. Sharmeen Hidayatullah for three years and i tried my best to play effective volunteer role in legislation at federal level. In Sindh i played key role in legislation on stopping early childhood marriage. I also serve as BODs member in many prestigious institutions in Pakistan and this is also similar kind of volunteer service which I shall always continue. Its very unfortunate that some frustrated individuals in society, out of intolerance, do character assassination through false propaganda. I am thankful to all for their positive negative comments.
