ive been into soul music from the age of about 8yrs old ,, listening to tracks from my aunties LPs likes of johnny johnson , smokey robinson & the four tops and i still have the LPs,, but i knew i would love the underplayed soul cos i used pick out the tracks that wasnt hits , such as FOR TOPS / IM GRATEFUL & IS THEIR ANYTHING THAT I CAN DO ,, still one of my all time faves , and i started record collecting at the age of about 11 with likes of soul that hit the charts back in 74/75 , then moved on to the Northern scene from then on i took my first big Northern soul night in at the age of 15 as it was youth club before than ,, think it was 1984 when i stopped going to clifton hall,, just had my first baby girl sarah ,, and family comes first ,, still went to the odd one or two thro the 90s,, but nothing like todays soul scene , love the scene ,, but it will never have the feel of the 70s ,,, here one of my first soul records i paid cash for, way back !!
