just came across this poem that pretty much fell out of my head after a break up a few years back... untitled I gave up much to be with him I gave him my whole life I was perturbed by all the pain, consumed by all the strife and when he took his steel and slashed, it came as such a blow! its strange, you think you know someone, until you never know. With time, a clear epiphany will show me what went wrong till then, in pain, Ill suffer, hopeless, yearning to be strong. it feels as though Ive lost an arm a leg, another limb but yet, our union caused me harm, Ill never love again! perhaps I will; and Ill be ready for when love finds me I want to be a solid rock whom he wont scathe nor leave and nor will insecurity dictate our ebb and flow instead Ill nurture, love, affirm NOT treat him like a foe!
