just in time for the cloudburst, i was drawn to the forest. not that i hadnt been to the woods lately, but its been some time i had been out there in the rain. usually, during working days etc. one would avoid getting too dirty, avoid the deep grass for ticks and get home before the rain starts. but i just missed the feeling of not avoiding it, but being part of it. so as i entered the woods, i disabled the try not to get too dirty mode. i found a fallen tree and jumped onto it, my intuiton guiding me smoothly like a monkey, and in this guidance a little shelter was built onto the fallen stem and root. i new it wouldnt keep me dry, but it would keep me from getting soaked. sitting in the dirt, leaning onto the dirt wall of the tree root, the a roof of leaves above the head, nothing is dirty, it is shelter. every little twig, every single leave, every particle of dirt matters; its just piled up in imperfection, but it works, and keeps me dry. and it feels good to touch the dirt as if it was your living room, shape it too your needs, nothing is seperate; i shape my surroundings and it shapes me, as i merge with the dirt and listen to the voice of the rain. now the rainburst didnt last too long and i actually went home quite soon afterwards. one the way i ate half of the meadows. fresh salad, for free (of course!) and already washed :) refreshed and curious, i was eager to explore other parts of the universe in the same intimate interaction i felt in the woods. and its nice to have a shower, and to get back to the wonders of civilization. all the awesome things we have today, come from this intimate interaction with our surroundings.. seing just what is there and not getting lost in meaningless loops of mindless thinking. the wonders of civilization require that we stay civilized, down to earth that is :)
