just to illustrate: Theres a table in your room. Just your standard normal table made of wood. One night, you put an apple on the table. Then you set an alarm clock, lock the door, and go to sleep. In the morning you woken up by the alarm, you take a glance at the table and the first thing you notice that the apple is gone. Your mind started to think logically. First you check under the table, perhaps the table legs is uneven or theres an earthquake when you sleep. But theres nothing under table. Then you think someone must be stealing your apple, perhaps your roommates, but then you remember that youve locked the door before you sleep, and youre the only one that had the key. You must be sleep walking and eat the apple, so you check the trash bin for any remains, but its empty. Maybe you dont throw the remains to the bin, so you check everywhere on the floor, but none, the floor is even still dust free since youve just clean it yesterday. Or maybe you somehow got into the balcony in your half asleep state then throw it outside (your room is on second floor), but then you realize that is just stopped raining, is somehow you go into the balcony you must be wet right now. You scratch that sleep walking theory, youve even never sleep walk before in your life. Next probably you start doubting your memory, maybe you have no apple in the first place... Maybe you dreamed the apple and it never existed in your room. Well the thing is, our memory is not a state of art technology. It cant exactly record an event like a camera or an audio recorder. No one can confirm that youve ever had an apple last night. Our memory can be faulty, and its eerie. The input of our memory is our senses, if the data recorded as a memory could be faulty, could or senses be faulty too? Anyway, of course theres the apple ghost theory...
