kitchen light repair update- going by my fbkinsman David Taggarts sugggestion I decided to try the wall switch first- getting it off turned out to be a herculean effort as the mounting screw in one of the devices was totally stripped, and to make matters worse it was one of those unbreakable plates that just dont snap off, but I finally managed to get it off and pulled the switch out. unfortunately my household voltage tester is one of those milwaukee M!2 that look like a ray- gun, looks cool as hell but pretty useless and didnt have a battery, so I had to pull the battery out of my M12 radio (which is great) and charge it, while I was waiting for it to charge I decided to replace the switch anyway. The plate was grasy so I washed it off in the sink. I didnt want to walk down in the basement to the breaker panel so I decided to do it hot, being very careful since it is an old metal box. changing the switch did not solve the problem, and the switch is now hanging taped up outside the box , who knows I might have to get in the box again after I investigate the light itself. I had to go down in the basement to get my household ladder and when I got it upstairs the dogs were waiting demanding some of the chicken necks I got them today. Amyway after such a grueling effort I decided to take a break and eat some cheezits and report in to fb.
