last drunken thought/ramble/rant of the night--- it seems the most privileged among us get the biggest platforms in our movements. are we increasing legit visibility in our movement or are we making a deal with the devil? if cis white gay men didnt get publicity would the rest of the lgtbqia community ever be heard? racial issues get little publicity, but if black men stopped speaking, who would listen to black women? if light black people were ignored, where would that leave darker poc? if the working class couldnt be heard, who would listen to those beneath the poverty line? do we just accept that the most privileged among us get the tiny platforms we are granted? do we accept this as a necessary evil? or how do we demand more as a community? because we are still playing the privilege game and you cant dismantle the masters house using the masters tools, but if even our most privileged are never really heard, so what hope do the rest of us have?
