last night ii had a conversation with one of my best friends about people and what constitutes remaining as well as being cut from our lives. she asked what ii thought of a few guys and ii shared my account, ranging between neutral and positive. we talked about how they fight for the bill, as they should. ii told her if they want to go dutch or let her pay, they can find others to spend time with. thats only partial quality needed to remain. of course a guy is generous when socializing with girls. thats a given. theres motivation there. if that quality transcends throughout his life, is where his true character lies. does this guy treat everyone in this regard? is he as generous with his parents, siblings, guy friends, or even strangers? money is a measure of work hours and sacrifice. when someone pays, theyre showing appreciation and willingness to work for you. ii was recently in the presence of five girl friends and one male acquaintance (we met him that day). after hanging out for a few hours, we walked into a gas station where they each grabbed an ice cream bar. as the girls gathered in line, the guy stood there waiting to pay for his own ice cream. of course my best friend told the cashier to put it all on her card. not surprised, by this guys behavior, ii knew he would never be welcome to any of our outings again. ii was amazed he was not willing to step up and pay for six ice cream bars, including his own. as we know, time is fleeting, so every moment spent with anyone is to be embraced. ii have a dozen best friends whom ii see once a year, which means ii have even less time for those who are not best friends. there are too many intriguing people in the world, to ignore yellow and red flags. some people wait for red, but ii cut quick with the first yellow. some people dont even cut after seeing red flags over and over. those people must have until the end of time. ii dont. ii have very little time left, which means people who remain in my life, must be of absolute perfection. some people say thats shallow. ii just smile at them. :) to each their own... and my own, is you. ;)
