me and depression go way back.... we first met when I was about 15.... since then we have known each other. some days I win. some days Ive thought it was going to win and it has taken me an 8 count to get off the mat . bout most days we battle to a gentleman draw which I think I win on the score cards cause you know what, im stil here putting one foot in front of the other, enjoying everyday for what it is and being the best me I can be. in that battle ive used some coping mechanisms that are healthy and positive. ive also utilized more than I care to admit that arent as healthy or positive; some of which affected my life in ways which I cant go back and fix. im thankful to my Jah, my friends and my kids that have all extended that hand down toward the mat to help me up. but you know what, everyday that I am moving forward, establishing new habits that push some of those old ones aside, doing a little good for others, showing love , making some one else smile if only for a moment , living out loud and being the me that I can be; well then, that aint nothing but a damn fine day... so to close, my name is Chris. sometimes I get sad. and yes, there are days that I may have depression but you know what..... there are no days the depression has me:-)
