I have lost everything i worked for believing in the ones who were supposed to guide me. I have been discarded and shunned by some for being weak and fragile and letting my injury beat me which i still fight everyday. I gave my entire life to my job. I was told we were monitored constantly on our interactions and what we did. I was almost paranoid about taking part in anything outside of my job. We had to live and breath what we did. We had to be fearless in the odds of how we did some of the work. OSHA was the only group that warned us on how to look for bad situations. I thank them for that. I was accused of being a whistleblower for defending myself with what OSHA taught me. I still live with various nerve pain that the doctors cannot agree on. I have cracked discs, central protrusions and annular tears in my back . The toll its taking on my body and health has been persistent. Going from a workaholic success focused blue collar worker to damaged goods has been the most terrible thing i have ever endured in my life. We did the jobs no one else wanted to.
