my Beautiful mom Maria Rivera . You are so Precious to me and even though I speak to her daily, I miss her so very much. Its been 3 years since I have put my arms around her and felt the warmth of her touch. I can never ever repay her for all that she does for me. My Mom is my hero, my living Angel. On 9/11/2001 she saved my life and my 3 month old Baby, when I had a 9am appointment (my destination being the World Trade Center). She decided to take me there and called her boss at the south street seaport to say she would be late. We were there, we saw it all happen, we lived the the terror and the sadness, there was so much chaos and tears , as we ran for our lives when the buildings started to collapse and the black smoke engulfed us all. But she was so strong through it all helping every one we came across as we ran towards the shelter of the seaport. There is so much more to tell, but the one thing is that everyday after that dreadful day she would walk as far as she could and she would work 24 hrs , sometime more, helping out at the Site. She didnt get a medal or a plaque , and you didnt read about my mom in the papers or saw her in the news ... But every day she was there giving her heart and helping in every way that she could. I am so Proud of her.
