my artist...Johannes Vermeer(1632-1675) was a dutch painter who specialized in domestic interior scenes of middle-class life,he was a moderately sucessefull provincial genre in his life time,he seems never to have been particularly wealthy,leaving his wife and children in debt at his death,perhaps because he produced relatively few paintings......my advice,do watch the film that was made about a bit of his life and mostly because of his portrait of a girl called*Girl with pearl earing* the model is played by Scarlett Johansson,and the painter is Colin Andrew Firth! awsome both...;)
