IKA with the assistance of the Greek police make routine checks on all tourist resorts aiming to detect undeclared work in seasonal businesses (restaurants - bars - snack bars - nightclubs - hotels watersports - travel agencies) by imposing heavy fines on offenders employers. Overall, the month of June 2013 tested 1,345 (one thousand three hundred forty-five business) and recorded 1,680 (one thousand six hundred and eighty) uninsured workers in total 4,818 (four thousand eight hundred and eighteen). Imposed spot fines 995,000.00 (nine hundred and ninety thousand euros) for non-compliance of the book newly recruited staff and the report drawn up spot checks were forwarded to the relevant Branch / the IKA imposing levies and subsequent fines.
