...not doing so good and have not been good since before my birthday. Being a peer in the community is not easy when you need to reach out for help. A few things circling in my head... I knower try to be here for one another but in pointing out how we think, a peer should be a peer, is not being a peer. I remember in sixth grade, after coming back from a parent/teacher meeting... my parents said that The teacher said that I wasnt applying myself and I was trying to learn but it was difficult to concentrate. I believe that the only requirement for being a peer needs to be that we share some lived experiences... who are we to tell someone else how to be a peer? The other thing is that losing all this weight has altered my vision of the world. Some or people that have been my friend arent and some people that didnt even talk to me before, now want to partner on ideas.... Im just a girl that had a mental illness and I dont want to be perfect. I just want to be among people that are supportive and authentic.
