This is a middle level position reporting to the Project Coordinator and is based in Charsadda. The post is offered for four (04) months contract till October 31, 2013. Details of the position are: Core Responsibilities: The Social organizer for the project Livelihood Development and Food Security of Vulnerable Women in Flood Affected areas of District Charsadda will be responsible for the awareness and introduction of the project in the communities. She will be primarily responsible for the mobilizing the community and their resources to achieve the objects set for this specific project. • Effective management and implementation of the development program by developing partnership/linkages with like-minded community groups/organizations, identifying contact person in the project area • Responsible need assessment, formation of women groups and preparation of distribution plan of service delivery • Creating willingness of local community for helping themselves by mobilization. • Introducing the project, its objective and approach among the communities in accordance with Project strategy and requirements. • Preparing the profile of the area as per the need of the project by statistical methods. • Promoting Self-help activities/ initiatives by communities in the project areas in light of rights based approach • Mobilize the community resources for community and have development plans for themselves by supporting the community. • Awareness & empowerment of community regarding social, economic, civic & political rights through “Rights Based” Approach. • Involvement of community (marginalized, deprived & excluded groups) in development processes like planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities • Assisting the field coordinator in the achievement of area objectives through regular reporting of activities and by active participation in the meetings. • Proper documentation and record keeping of on- going activities • Promoting the delivery of citizen rights by the responsible line departments by developing linkages • Responsible for of assigned sector management by planning, implementation & monitoring • Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) understating and ensure the DRR mainstreaming during project implementation • Understanding of mutual accountability and transparency including complain handling mechanisms Candidate Profile: Bachelors/Masters Degree in Social Sciences At least 2-3 years of related experience of working as Social Organizer. Must have knowledge of local languages Good interpersonal communication skills Good knowledge of rights based approach and of social dynamics in working area Experience of working with diverse civil society organizations Exposure/ability to work in a diversified multicultural set-up.
