ok all my birding friends.. was coming across the Apalachin (NY) bridge at 1:30p today and spotted this bird flying over the Susquehanna River heading due north. I knew right away it was a bird of prey, however I was and still am unsure of what it truly is. Will submit a pic or two to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to see if maybe they can help. Take a stab at please. I was thinking a Gyrfalcon but that would be a weird thing for here!! Not an Owl.. so any ideas? White phase Red-tailed Hawk maybe?? Your guess is as good as mine!! But this was cool!! Photos taken by Michele Morningstar ~enjoy!
