(( ok but how about a fan fiction with merman Arthur and human Alfred where they fall in love but obviously theyre unable to come to each others realms because Arthur would dry up and die from lack of water but Alfred would obviously drown. So one day when swimming in the ocean, Arthur pulls Alfred under the water to try and force him to stay with him. Arthur, as merfolk dont exactly know science well, believes that its their lower halves that are the problem and disregards the lack of gills on Alfred. So because merfolk are selfish creatures, he drowns him. After Alfred dies, Arthur panics and grows depressed to the point of he kills himself while cradling Alfreds corpse in his arms.
