okay... so im getting a little nervous with reading posts on your chows health issues! im a first time chow owner. She just turned a year old. Now I do admit i may not have done all the research i could have before getting her... I was use to boxers. So i read posts about some of your pets needing surgery for entropion (which my vet says she does not have thankfully) and some hip/knee/leg issues at very young ages and i must say it terrifies me... So heres a few questions... is it possible that she could still get entropion? and is it a high risk for the other issues? any way to prevent such health risks... we have her on natural balance limited ingredient food...grain free and natural treats either fruitables or newly added nutro fruit treats. she does get peanut butter in her kong...white rice and eggs on special occasions... her biggest problem is her fur matting... its horrible how quick she matts. Ive tried everything. My groomer says we will need to shave her this spring and start from a shorter cut which im okay with per my vet her fur may not grow back the same but unless we are showing her and we are not she will be fine. A little more info on her is she is indeed fixed that was done at 6 months and shes a barker! but shes a happy healthy girl so far... so gimme all you got guys!
