olympic b.c will reopen for training on monday the 18th of august 6pm for the 2014/2015 season. after a season that saw us win 24 county champions, 19 connacht and amazing 10 national champions and 2 european medals and a representative at the world junior championships across all age levels male and female we aim to build on that success and make the next season even better than the last one.make sure youre all training and on time and your weights are right places in the gym will fill up fast.alot things coming up the next season a lot of exciting trips and experiences couple of dates already penciled in our diary we will travel to dungarvan late september for the celtic box cup and mid to late october we will make the return trip to sweden for the week with the training camp and a big show at the end of it with the hammarby IF boxing club and the stockholm district theres gonna be a lot to look forward to,places will only be given to those training and putting the time in. some of highlights this season has to be the national titles two won each by james cleary,frankie cleary,martin sammon and mikey boy delaney.debbie o reilly winning our first ever female national title in november and gary sweeney winning the national senior elite heavyweight title something that hasnt been done since 1996 when francis barrett won the light-welterweight crown. from sparing up and down the country and tournaments,gary sweeney boxing in his first senior international tournaments and mikey boy delaney boxing for his country for the first time v england in monaghan and getting the win heres a fast summary of our season with a selection of photos to sum it up. also the senior boxers coming to our gym for a training camp.james cleary winning in scotland in august.connacht champions in september pat mongan,debbie o reilly,bernie and tom mc donagh.our annual tournaments with our lifelong friends st francis limerick ans ennis b.c.james cleary going to the world juniors in kiev ukraine,frankie cleary winning silver in the european juniors in anapa russia and mikey boy delaney winning a bronze medal at the european schoolboy championships in hungary.james also picking up his 16th international cap and also captaining his country engalnd v ireland in basingstoke last march and club coach michael mongan also picked as one of the coaches for team ireland v england that night. club coach michael mongan completing and passing his AIBA European 1 star coaching exam.james and frankie cleary due to box in the european youth championships this october in zagreb croatia and gary sweeney due to box in the european union championships in bulgaria. our trip to poland,welcoming the swedish team to galway for a training camp and a tournament,welcoming islington b.c to galway for a show and our return trip to them last may. of course our away trips to donegal and monaghan and our christmas show in the westside tavern are also ones to look back on to help shape one of our most successful and enjoyable seasons ever. really looking forward with excitement and optimism for our next one and please god 2014/2015 will be just as successful as 2013/2014 season. #bigfuture #bigplans #olybc
