on my way 2 work last week (it was very cold) i saw a lady pushing a cart and she had a pretty bad limp. like everyone else i passed her up and kept looking in my rear view mirror thinking someone else would stop, of course nobody did. i turned around and pulled over then asked if she was from around here and where she was going, this was at the toll road and cameron road. she asked how far she was from i35 and she would ditch the cart if i gave her a ride. so off we go and she told me the story of how she walked from elgin all night and slept on the side of the road and still could not feel her hands or toes. she asked me what kind of world this is when nobody helps a lady on probably one of the coldest days we had around here. i took her to the pville truck stop and gave her my snacks and lunch along with a little cash. as i pulled away i shed a tear thinking of her cold night and how many times she kept thanking me. pretty sure at least a hundred cars passed her up but none of that matters because that blue honda/bmw didnt.
