on this 9/11, its hard to put in perspective that we have had two war time presidencies, 13 years of involvement in war, trillions in direct cost, 100,000s of American lives lost and families impacted for life, 100,000s of civilian casualties, maybe millions...and it only seems to get worse. one victory or successful drone kill begets a new organization and inspires a new set of volunteers. this feels like dien bien phu, the years leading up to it and the decades after...we cant tell the difference between an event or a movement. it has been and it will be... this is a paradigm issue not a conflict or war. you cant address a change in paradigm with old tools or old paradigms.
