oudressy or audressy savoie and marguerite Maggie duplantis on their wedding day may 6,1891 in Montegut..they were parents to Pamela ( my grandma) ,Arthur,Abel, Lena, juluis, and Addis..this picture is very water damaged and frail.i borrowed it from my cousins who cant figure out who they were..grandpa is sitiing down,he has a drawn face on it..but happy to be able to copy ..Maggie was a midwife for woodlawn plantation, and when family arrived to view her body she was laid out on the kitchen table..then when the ambulance pre hearsts came the black men from the plantation all formed a line two by two behind my grandma and uncles and walked to st.eli cemetery where she is buried..the black slaves sang religious songs and held their hats over their heart as they walked..told to me by my uncle.he and his mom walked from grand caillou to Ashland where they caught a ride with a man with a cane load in his wagon to the plantation.......grandma Maggie was a small woman..but highly respected by the slaves..
