over 5 years ago- I brought a prototype BCycle to Dayton. I suggested Dayton be one of the first cities in America to launch a proper bike share system. People didnt understand what I was talking about- I made the rounds- community leaders- university presidents- little men who think they run the city from behind the curtain. Dayton selected Bcycle this year to install a limited system. They had a cattle call for creatives to name it and brand it. Over 20 firms- The committee chose 3 finalists to interview- and then selected my former employees who schemed for months to start their own thing, while taking money from me. They are very proud of themselves right now. Im pretty sure they will do decent work. I asked via FOIA for the proposals- and the evaluation sheets that are required in a bid eval- and of course was rejected, despite this system to be public and managed by RTA. The funny thing is- Im going to have the last laugh on this no matter what. Thats for a future announcement. But- it continues to amaze me how small minded and spiteful people who are running Dayton into the ground can be. We actually have laws about public bids- they routinely get ignored. rant over- Ive got more work than I can handle from some really great clients- And- I am making more money than I ever did with the ungrateful cretins who left. You know what- karma is an amazing thing. Looking to hire talented people who can do web development and advertising at a national level. life is good.
