over the years, but especially in the early RSD years, I had so - TopicsExpress

over the years, but especially in the early RSD years, I had so many doctors saying my pain was a result of my depression, when in fact the opposite was true. However, it makes little difference once you are in that cycle - you will often feel as though your pain is increasing when in fact it generally isnt, but your ability to cope with the pain decreases to such an extent that it feels like your pain is worse than before. Trying to break the cycle is very difficult, but is best started with baby steps. I have often said to people to adapt what they usually do but are unable to do due to RSD, and if you can just do things for a very short time. For instance exercise, start with just 2 mins per day, then after a few days increase to 2 mins twice daily - when you achieve this seemingly insignificant increase you will feel that you are starting to win a few points against the RSD - slowly, very slowly if necessary, increase the time and before you know it you have a regular, manageable (very important) routine - now onto the next thing now you have provn you can do it....
