parkrun #123! - This week there were 254 runners, of whom 46 were first timers and 74 recorded new PBs! Silpa ran her 100th parkrun! Also a big thanks to Pat Farmer: Ultramarathon Runner for his inspiring words and the goody bags he gave away after the run! Todays course was ever so slightly shorter than usual, were going to work out something to bring it back up as close to 5K again. A huge thanks to todays volunteers - especially Anna and Lana who stepped in when we had a few no-shows. Remember, no volunteers = no parkrun! We need at least TEN volunteers each week (1 course marker + 5 marshalls + 4 finish line helpers) and if were lucky well have a photographer, people to help around the finish funnel, lead the warm-up, and someone to set up the start/finish area. Remember, if youre coming every week and youre getting a lot out of parkrun and the great community weve got going it be fantastic if you could give back by helping out once every 10-12 weeks. stpetershelpers@parkrun or tiny.cc/stpetersparkrun to get involved!
