`participating 12 Vancouver Community Centre Associations and non-participating 6 My Vancouver Community Centres and Vancouver Park Board & City of Vancouver re-negotiations for a new JOA: Thank you Francis - just wading through the 234 replies. Although I am sorry that the legal suit was initiated at-this time and disappointed at the notice -- these actions have made a topic of curiosity of a few -- one of the topics of conversation everywhere that I go. The discussions about the value of volunteers, community involvement and democracy are now FRONT and CENTRE and unlikely to go away until a reasonable settlement is achieved and ratified and the co-managed partnership system allowed to get back to its intended purpose -- that of providing diverse recreational opportunities to all Vancouverites throughout the City. I have simplified the complexities but the system has worked for 40 + years. I agree everything needs to be updated and improved along the way but the various disagreements over the years have never come to this -- why the crisis now ... I wonder.
