people keep asking me about my take on the Eric Garner incident. I wont comment on it and i wont be goaded into commenting on it but i will tell about an incident that happened to me...... In 1977 a N.Y. State Trooper tried to arrest me for something I didnt do, I did not comply and he smashed me over the head with his flashlight, I still resisted and after being pummeled by three Officers I was finally arrested and taken to the emergency room.... When the case was finally dropped because the NY State Police realized they made a mistake I told my father that i wanted to sue the Police Dept.. He said what for, i said for beating the crap out of me when i didnt do anything to deserve it...Dad said if you were arrested and it was proven you were innocent you could have sued them for false arrest but being you resisted you did commit a crime, even if you are innocent you cannot resist an arrest,...... it was a valuable lesson that i learned that night and i have told it to my son at least a hundred times you cannot resist arrest even if youre innocent of what they are accusing you of and if you do resist you are committing a crime, just remember this, the Police are right even when they are wrong, comply and let the Courts decide the outcome.
