There is an issue that does require some attention that I need to propose to you. Gas Chambers are used in about half of the states in this country to kill unwanted dogs and cats. Death in a gas chamber is horrific for these animals that have been forced into this death solely because they were not placed in a loving home. Since Daniel The Beagle survived the gas chamber two years ago, there has been progress in some states to establish a law to ban its use. Daniel and his owner, Joe Dwyer, lead an effort to create more awareness and education on gas chambers and also to help more animals get adopted throughout the country. There are many initiatives brought forth by people like you in our government that lead us to a more peaceful and compassionate society. Banning the gas chambers needs to be the next step in that process. Obviously the animals suffer and die but the people involved are also adversely affected. People that operate the gas chamber experience increased stress ending the life of an animal as opposed to if they to give the animal a humane injection. There are also safety and environmental risks associated with the gas chamber. In the process of banning the gas chamber at the state level it was also determined that the cost of a humane injection was less than the cost of operating a gas chamber. There are multiple good reasons to now take this necessary step and enact a law for a nation wide ban of the use of the gas chamber. I am asking for you support on this issue as soon as possible. Every day we wait, needless suffering is taking place, and compassion is certainly not being taught to our citizens, especially the children by continuing the use of the gas chamber.
