Thinking about the quality of attack in an artist like Elizabeth Swartzkopf as she sings lieder or Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau (the latter I first studied as a young baritone looking for models to emulate). If I tend to favor (musically) Prince over Kanye, I still think Kanye can hang. America, the fabric of your culture is changing!
