Arrived in Jean Rebal yesterday - the roads were not roads and for the first time we went off roading in a Pathfinder - though hard to find the paths. AVIS PROBABLY HAD NO IDEA. The children are amazing - so sincere in their love for us and in their singing. We love you for helping us come to Haiti. We love you. We have learned so much - Haiti grows happy children and large roaches, the food is not bad but you dont ask what it is. Goat does not taste like chicken. The undies from Patti Lyall Carnaroli and our family and friends were so appreciated - the little girls had many grins and wows. I have learned that you can shave your legs with cold water, cornrows being put in hurt, and Debbie Werner and I do not look especially pretty in them. One huge problem is everyone is mad at Tim Fretts for not remembering them but they are actually talking to Tim Timothy Werner. No one here believes Tim Werner is not Tim Fretts and that they are not related. You know, all Tims look alike. Never in USA could you buy 7000 bricks at dinner and start laying them at breakfast with no building permits. 21 loads of sand is here and the community has gathered for work. Deb Werner and I are going to the school building to make crafts with the kids today, I have learned you can go to bed with dirty feet and a clean soul and sleep in peace even with scorpions in the house. However I will say, this is not a trip for the faint of heart. Which I am without the power of Christ living in me.
