sandy has calmed down. she greats us with good rubs. she has even given my hand a kiss. she is all over us when we come in the room. she still has to be quarantined. she has an upper respiratory infection and is on meds for it. the new vet i have, said that 97% of the cats that come to see him with this problem, are from pounds and it is spread easily. i have a new vet now since the other one passed sassy off and miss diagnosed her. and they also done that to my dog. i will be taking april to the new vet for meds for her epilepsy. where the other vet said not to worry about it unless she has one or more a month. the old vet said sassy had a sore throat but now i understand the way she was doing it was probably a tumor in the throat. and then i found out she could of been on asma meds. that it would not cause diabetes in her like i was told from the old vet. the new vet said in all his practice he has only seen one cat do that from asma meds. so, sassy didnt have to die. i blame myself for that. i am so crushed from this. but now i have a new vet that is excellent and handles them so nice. not push and pull on my babies. i will never go back to that old vet ever again. but, sandy i took her in and she is on meds for her upper respiratory. and i had only had her a week before i took her in. for her sneezing. and she had already put on 2 pounds. she was 5 when i got her at 10 months. now she is 7lbs or a little more today. her coat is shiny now. and i looked at her face and markings on it and the bottom of her feet. her tail and her baggy pants i call them. and long hair here and there. the more i looked the more she looked like she had maincoon in her like sassy. when i asked the vet. he said yes she sure does have it in her. so, i found a baby girl looking for a forever home and found another maincoon mix. and in the color i wanted. it will take her 5 yrs to mature. they mature slow. so it will be exciting to watch the change over the yrs. her color will change some. she may get lighter in areas on her body and thicker hair. but she has her pads on her feet almost covered with long white fur. that is a main coon trait. and the pound said they didnt have any mixes. they didnt know what they had or what to look for. but we have her here and she is a sweet baby. its sad that someone tossed her away cause she played to rough. maybe they didnt know the maincoon playfulness. they are like little kittens, love to play. and sandy loves to play. she is a good match for benny. when she gets out of quarantine. my poor house with two 10 month old kittens that love to run and play. she will fit in really well here. they play under the door with each others paws. i am sure it will take them time to get used to one another when they are face to face. she is a keeper. she has wormed her way into our hearts.
