#scenes #research #Portugal #newarticle #novoartigo #KISMIF Punk, action and contradiction in Portugal Paula Guerra In this article, we report the emergence, dynamics and F1000012 significance of punk in Portugal considering that history of pop music repeats itself regularly, reinventing new underground scenes as responses to the built hegemonies. This is a first approach to social and symbolic restructuring of punk in the last 40 years in Portuguese society, following an attempt to contextualize this global phenomenon at national level, where the protagonists, the paths and settings are necessarily different of the context Anglo-Saxon. From the theoretical point of view we place our approach in a heuristic discussion between cultural studies and post-subcultural studies, reviewing the paradigms of contemporary youth cultures approach.
