shocked to hear that popular Tamil political cartoonist Balas still more popular Facebook page has been blocked by Facebook following his post on fb on film actor rajinikanths recent film. while the actors fans who are behind this are yet to be condemned for this action, it also brings into question the matter of free speech which Facebook stands for. it has happened to Bala . It can happen to anyone who acts with any kind of impartiality. It is also worrying that the fans of rajinikanth are under the impression, of course with none of the civil society activists...invariably brahmean... ever offering any criticism of the fans conduct though they hold forth on every civil society forum, that they as the actors fans are already a law unto themselves . (not to forget that the film actors politically ambitious brahmean wife is an RSS acolyte ). this isnt right. even politicians have taken Balas cartoons gamely and Bala has taken on both the DMK and AIADMK as also the others. Bala is, of course, not a brahmean nor fond of RSS and is very popular.
