*sigh* Its late and I just want to post something. Lets do an analysis of Fear, yes the actual emotion Fear. First lets start off by saying that fear is one of the most basic and primitive human emotions. It has been around even before we were walking on two legs. The very start of Fear comes from within human instinct, it has to do with survival. In early times fear was when man would look upon a situation, object, or lack of said items ( we will get to that later) and primitive instinct would tell man that that thing is harmful to his survival and after realizing this, the body would give off electrical signals that would compel man to run away from the thing because it was harmful or potentially harmful to their survival. Fear could just be your body being superstitious and forcing you to react. H. P. Lovecraft had a quote, The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown” This is true, case and point, would you stare at the shadowed forest at night from your house, at midnight? The darkness and the wilderness of nature holds so many unknowns, so many unknowns that could look at you, that could be superior to you, that might want to kill you in the most unnatural ways. Still want to look into the shadow of the untamed forest? Then we come to the case of phobias This also has a simple explanation. If you have a phobia of spiders, you probably just judge them on there looks, eight legs and creepy and crawly. You probably dont have an abundance of experience with them, see where this is going? But you might have had a traumatic experience when you where younger yes? Well you were just exposed to one side of the beast, and it probably bit you, youngsters in their ignorant stages would not be scared of a spider just crawling on them. Anyways, as you were exposed to that one side, your body made the guess that the rest of the spider would be just as worse, but it wasnt sure, but it also couldnt take a risk so it came to embrace you as fear of not what the spider did to you, but what you think it could do to you. The creepy crawly stuff is just an excuse. And this is also why man has a natural fear of the dark. Because we cant see in the dark and if we cant see we dont know, and if we dont know, what can you do?
